Setting up the farm
Build the Breeding Farm at your base and make sure it has room for the two Pals to move. Assign one male and one female Pal to the farm — two Pals of the same gender will not breed, and unassigned Pals wandering your base will not breed either. The assignment, not just proximity, is what starts breeding.
Keep the farm in a base where the Pals can actually reach it. If a Pal is stuck, assigned to another job, or unable to path to the farm, breeding stalls. Reassigning the Pals usually clears that.
Cake and eggs
Cake goes in the farm chest. One Cake is consumed for one egg, so a long chain needs Cake in advance. Do not rely on a single Cake if you plan to breed for passives, because you will need several eggs from the same pair to get the passive combination you want.
When an egg appears, pick it up and put it in an Egg Incubator. The egg's species is already decided at breeding time by the formula or special combo — incubation does not change the species.
Farm placement and base work
Pals assigned to the farm are not doing other base jobs while they breed. Plan around that: do not assign your only farmer, miner, or crafter to the farm if your base still needs that work. Use spare Pals for breeding, or rotate assignments between breeding runs.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my breeding farm not producing eggs?
Check, in order: Cake in the farm chest, one male and one female Pal, both Pals actually assigned to the farm, and both Pals able to reach the farm. See the troubleshooting page for the full checklist.
Can I breed at any base?
Yes, as long as the base has a Breeding Farm, the two assigned Pals, and Cake in the farm chest.
